Need Help at Associated Content? Ask a Community Guide

March 2, 2010 Lisa Mason 4 comments

I was very pleased to be accepted into the Community Guide program at Associated Content last week. My new badge was added today, making it “official” and I’m greatly looking forward to the opportunity to help others. I have been a contributor to AC for over 3 years now and it’s the only site of its kind that I have stuck with. As a full time professional writer, I don’t usually benefit from pay-per-click sites but Associated Content isn’t your run-of-the-mill site of this type.

The potential of earnings with AC is completely in your control and there are many opportunities to advance, earn assignments and even work with partners to earn more. Many Contributors have also found other jobs and clients via their work at Associated Content. These are just a few more reasons why you can benefit from signing up to the site.  There is no risk involved and it’s free to make an account. There are no obligations on how much you can write each month and there are also no restrictions on how much you can publish.

I happily suggest AC to new writers and have done so for many years now. I also greatly enjoy being able to help new Contributors find their way around the site and discover how to earn money for themselves through their writing. AC can be a great way to get started as a writer, branch out in a new area or niche you want to write for, build samples of writing with your byline and much more. It’s also a great community of friendly and helpful Contributors and a variety of resources to help you with online writing, publishing, SEO, marketing and more. If you have a question, there’s an answer just waiting for  you!

This is also why I have a section of the blog now devoted just to AC and AC writers. If you have questions, comments or concerns, they are very much welcomed and appreciated. If you’re new to AC, send me a comment or message through the system so that I can go and check out your work as well. And of course, if you have any questions, myself or another Community Guide will be happy to help!

Writers Block Got You Down? Remember Why You Love to Write!

March 2, 2010 Lisa Mason 1 comment

If you are suffering from writers block, one of the best things you can do is taking the time to remember why you love to write. This brings back the passion and the love that you have for writing and takes away the pressure that can sometimes come with this.

If you’re writing on assignment or writing for your business, it can sometimes start to feel mundane when you are writing about the same things or not getting a break to just write about whatever you want. This is when writers block may jump in and get a hold on your creativity.

This is when you need to remember why you love to write in the first place. Take some time to think about when you first learned you loved writing or how you first learned to write. These memories can get you refreshed so that your writers block fades away.

If you want, you can even make a list of the reasons why you love writing. Put it down on paper and then you can see the reasons right in front of you. You can look at this list again and again whenever you start to feel discouraged.

The love of writing can bring out something special from inside of you. It gives the muse a welcoming place to reside and will help you get rid of your writers block once and for all. You can make the choice not to let writers block ruin your ability to write. It all begins with remembering why you love it in the first place.
