Getting Ready for Work

Getting ready for work

Here I am at my BattleStation (sometimes called “Mom’s office”) getting ready to do my work for the day. The kids are home for Spring Break and it’s a beautiful day outside so I’m getting a slow start. I’ve opened the windows to let some of that gorgeous sun in my office and now I’m ready to write and edit. I’ve checked my emails and I have a list of people to get back to…

You just have to take it all one step at a time. Working at home is a process and there are many responsibilities that all have to be balanced at once.

Being a writer is the same way. In addition to the actual writing, you must spend time researching, editing, marketing, applying to jobs and more. Again, it’s all a process.

You need to organize, prioritize and take it one step at a time if you want to meet with success. The longer you’ve done it, the easier it will get but for some people, the hardest part is creating the routine in the first place.

How do you get ready for work’? Do you have a routine that you stick to daily? Is there something you do that gets you “pumped up” for the day? Share your ideas for getting ready for work when you work at home. We all have different ways of making it work. You just have to find the method that works for you!
