Video game hurts schoolwork of boys–study

Researchers are trying to tell parents something about what kinds of video games chidlren should be playing and how much time they should spend doing it.

A new study concludes what you’ve already suspected: Young boys who play video games do worse on tests than children who don’t.

Researchers who followed 64 boys from the ages of 6 to 9 for four months discovered that those who received a new PlayStation II gaming system earned lower reading and writing test scores than children who did not get the video game player.

Articles offer many benefits that online businesses can take advantage of regardless of how large or small the company. For example, it’s a good way to have free publicity which makes it a great promotional tool. You can reach readers and potential customers from all over the world. All good businessmen know that the more exposure you get, the more opportunities you have to make more sales.

Are you ready to start writing great articles that will reach out and grab the attention of your readers? There are several things that you can do to make sure you actually create the quality articles that you imagine. All you need to do is follow these simple tips for creating great articles and you are ready to get started.

  • Don’t limit yourself when it comes to your writing. Be creative and ask yourself questions that you would want to know answers to if you were searching for information on that particular subject. Write down everything you think of and use this information as a way to get started.
  • Stay focused on your original idea. You don’t want to stray from your topic or your article will be too broad and difficult to follow. It’s recommended that each article stay focused on a specific idea, item, service or so forth and then provide valuable information on that subject.
  • Don’t over think the information you are trying to write. Sometimes, when you think about something constantly you tend to make it harder than what it should be. If you can’t think of the next sentence or even how to get started, take a break and give your mind a rest. The odds are that when you go back to the article the words you were searching for will come flowing out.
  • Use catchy headlines that will get the attention of the reader and make them want to learn more.
  • Use bullet points, numbering and sub-headers whenever appropriate to break up the text and make it more appealing.
  • Edit your work for a polished and professional look. This is very important. A great article must be easy to read with no spelling and grammar mistakes.
  • Begin your article with an introductory that will get the attention of the reader and end with a summary that will leave them with the major points you were trying to make.

Creating articles to use as a marketing tool is an excellent idea. The exposure you get from these can increase your sales and greatly enhance your business. The simple tips above can help you create great articles that get you noticed.

Celebrating My Son’s Birthday

March 18, 2010 Lisa Mason 3 comments

We’re celebrating a St. Patty’s Day birthday here today. It’s hard to believe that my oldest is 11 years old today!

I still remember the day he was born. The hospital dyed all of their food green. YUCK! Who thought it’d be a good idea to give green food to someone who’s just had a baby? :)

He loves having  a birthday on Saint Patrick’s Day and always wants to do a green-themed birthday celebration. Do you or someone in your household have a birthday that falls on another holiday? What do you do to celebrate?

As part of his birthday present, I promised to take the day off so other than popping in to check some messages, I don’t expect to be online much today.

What do you do for Saint Patrick’s Day?
